Freiwillige und doch notwendige Gesundheitschecks

Offen Karten! Volle Transparenz. Hier die Resultate der Gentests. Selbstverständlich erhalten die neuen Hundebesitzer die Kopien von diesen Unterlagen.

Teil meiner Verantwortung ist es nur Tiere zu vermehren die mit größtmöglicher Wahrscheinlichkeit gesund geboren werden und das möglichst bis an ihr Lebensende bleiben. Deshalb habe ich die folgenden Gentests durchführen lassen und bei der Wahl des Rüden sorgsam auf einen geeigneten und ebenfalls getesteten Hund geachtet.

Die Verbände fordern lediglich eine HD Prüfung. Alles andere ist freiwillig. Wie notwenig das ist erleben wir gerade in unserem Umfeld. Da erblindet nun ein Hund weil er PRA-prcd positiv ist und das anscheinend nicht aufgefallen ist. Das wünsche ich keinem Hundebesitzer.

Die folgenden, hier die Wichtigsten, Untersuchungen wurde durchgeführt:

Improper coat	Improper Coat-PCR Result: genotype N/N -FreeInterpretation: The dog is homozygous for the wildtype allele and does not carry the mutation which is responsible for „Improper Coat“. The dog will pass only the wildtype allele onto its offspring.	Result: Genotype N/N (Free)

PRA-prcd	*prcd-PRA (Optigen) – PCR Result: genotype N/PRA (carrier)Interpretation: The analysed dog is a carrier (heterozygous)of the mutation in the PRCD-gene, which is suggested to cause prcd-PRA. It can pass the mutation onto its offspringwith a probabilyty of 50 % and should therefore only be mated to clear dogs. This result is only valid for the submitted sample material. The result is valid for the sample received in the lab and forthe following breeds: Australian cattle dog, American Cocker Spaniel, American Eskimo, Chespeake Bay Retriever, Chinese Crested, English Cocker Spaniel, Entlebucher Sennenhund, Finnish Lapphound, Kuvasz, Lapponian Herder, Labrador Retriever, Miniature Poodle,Nova Scotia Duck tolling Retriever, Portugese Water Dog,Swedish Lapphound, Silky Terrier, Australian Stumpy tail cattle Dog, Toy Poodle, Golden Retriever, Australian Shepherd and Spanish Water Dog.
